JEWELRY CARE & SIZING

JEWELRY CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

Gold Filled:

Gold filled products are a great, quality alternative to the much more expensive solid karat gold. It's high in quality & with proper care and storage, you will have affordable jewelry that can last you up to 15 years.

Gold filled is an actual layer of gold pressure bonded to another metal such as brass. It’s not to be confused with gold plating as filled literally has 100% more gold than gold plating. Gold filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant if taken care properly. Caring for gold filled jewelry is relatively easy, when you are aware of what may cause it to tarnish and if you give it a good clean when necessary.

Tips to make it last:

  • Remove your jewelry when washing your hands, showering, swimming, exercising or doing anything that involves moisture.  Contact with liquid may cause oxidization or discoloration. In other words, when there’s any sort of liquid involved, it's safer to just remove your jewelry. Once in a while isn't going to cause any lasting damage, but if you do happen to get your jewelry wet, just make sure to dry it off after.

  • Perfume, hairspray & other types of lotion may contain harsh chemicals that can tarnish your jewelry overtime.

  • For extra care, gently wipe your piece clean of any products and skin oils at the end of the day or after use. You can use a jewelry polishing cloth or even an old t-shirt!

  • Never use abrasive products to clean your jewelry. They can damage the layer of precious metal.

  • Try to store your jewelry in a secure pouch, box or air-tight container out of direct sunlight and away from heat.

Sterling Silver:

Similar to many other precious metals, .925 sterling silver requires proper care and cleaning to maintain its initial luster and brilliance. Caring for sterling silver jewelry is also relatively easy, when you are aware of what may cause it to tarnish and if you give it a good clean every now and then.

  • To prevent tarnish and help maintain the beauty and shine of your sterling silver jewelry, follow the same tips listed above for gold-filled jewelry!

Stainless Steel:

Stainless steel jewelry is made of a steel alloy that contains chromium. Stainless steel shines just like real silver or gold and the good thing about it is that it does not corrode or rust. Although it is also very durable, this type of steel can get scratched and stained. Follow these easy tips, to keep your stainless steel jewelry in good condition.

Tips to make it last:

  • The simplest way to clean your stainless steel jewelry is with a bit of mild soap and warm water when it's dull and dirty.

  • Soak the stainless jewelry in a bowl containing a mixture of mild soap and warm water and let sit for a few minutes. Next, take a soft cloth and gently rub the jewelry. Make sure to dry off once you've finished cleaning it.

  • Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the surface of stainless steel metal. We recommend you remove any jewelry before swimming in any chlorinated pools.

  • Try to store your stainless steel jewelry in a secure pouch or in a fabric-lined box, away from other sharp objects or jewelry as this could scratch it.

Freshwater Pearls:

Freshwater pearls are a soft gemstone. If you take good care of your freshwater pearl jewelry, it can be a long lasting treasure.

Tips to make it last:

  •  Freshwater pearls are delicate and will easily scratch if stored next to other jewelry. To prevent damage always store your pearls in a jewelry pouch.

  • Follow same tips listed above for gold-filled and sterling silver jewelry.

SIZING:

All of our jewelry is made to be unisex, however it is still important to know about standard jewelry sizing. Below we have provided some information on standard jewelry sizing for both men and women, so that you can better determine what size will fit and suit you the best! Again, the information below is a just the universal standard, therefore our pieces may not fit you exactly like what is shown in the charts below. For the most part though, the sizing is pretty accurate!

Given that most of our pieces our vintage and one of a kind, it is likely that we have made only one of that piece, therefore only one size option is available, with the exception of some pieces that come with a 2" extension chain. For sizing information on individual pieces, refer to the product description.
